The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia is aware of isolated instances where citizens of the Republic of Abkhazia—who also hold citizenship of the Russian Federation—have encountered difficulties when crossing the state border of the Russian Federation at Moscow airports while presenting a passport of the Republic of Abkhazia. Currently, the Ministry has no information regarding similar incidents at other border crossing points.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia is conducting consultations on this matter with the competent authorities of the Russian Federation, in accordance with the provisions of existing bilateral agreements.

Should such circumstances arise, the Ministry advises citizens to formally notify the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia regarding the difficulties encountered, providing detailed information about the circumstances under which they occurred.

The Ministry advises citizens to rely on official statements and clarifications issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia or other authorized bodies, and to disregard information that has not been officially confirmed.
